Love you guys! Beautiful pics! Can't wait for your big day. Always make each other a priority no matter who or what comes along and nothing will divide you. Of course the infamous "communicate communicate communicate" is the other one. That will keep down confusion & division like no other. Keep pushing. You got this!

Marcques, Kristian, and I had so much fun taking these pictures in D.C. at the National Gallery of Art! We hope that you enjoy them as much as we did in creating them! We look forward to many more opportunities to make memories in the future.
Marvin and I have been road dogs for almost 18 years. Wow, we are completely washed up. We first met around 9th grade and we have been rolling ever since. Eventually we both went to UAB where we both pledg...uh participated in intake activities were I became an Alpha and he joined the Dark Side of Kappa Alpha Psi. Even though we joined two different fraternities our friendship grew stronger even miles apart as I could call Marvin and without hesitation he would come through the clutch.
September 2003, yep that's the date I met my friend, a big brother, and Line Brother, Antonio Godfrey. Easily one of the funniest and smartest guys I know. He basically help lay the groundwork for what our chapter is today. Yes we started the gold ties at probate movement. Weare also the original renegades for the cunning and antics we did on campus. Whenever an idea was good, he always yelled out "yeeeeaaah" to let you know it was good to go.
Kurstan is my little brother that has somehow gotten bigger over the years. Even though, it's obvious that I'm the more athletic specimen, somehow he has given a pass to play football in high school He has went from a popping whining scoundrel to this classy bachelor fr all the ladies to adore. He's at #MyASU or whatever little cute name Alabama State gives themselves these days.
Lionel and I met via Birmingham Airport as he was my supervisor. We hit it off based off our love for sports, traveling, and rants. Well he's the more angry rant guy out of the two as he is known by many as the Hulk. Known for his infamous "lemonade" Beck as we call him, is mostly laid back, surprisingly the voice of reason, and at times the most level headed guy out of the friends.
"This guy here" followed by shaking of the head is normally how one Mr. Kanye Moore looks at you in utter digust or amazement. I met this rascal during his ple... ummm... intake activities for Alpha at UAB. I was his Dean of Pledgees during that mini adventure. Since then we have clicked. We are also members of the Duke is Trash Association and Seminoles are Us football team. There are days we would go to the club and darn near forget to go IN because we would be joking and roasting in the whip. Between him and Tony, you could text them at 1 am in the middle of a snowstrom and they'll answer with the quickness.
Oh, Moccasin, well that's what the old folks call Marcus back in the Bluff. I first met Marcus when the backwater (country term for flood) basically kept us from going to school. We were both shocked our names sound familiar and futhermore amazed we were cousins. Marcus thought he was too cool for Pine Hill Elementary but we had some classics at Wilcox Central (it was HIS idea to skip school for prom dates)
E. Rashad Battle and I have known each other for virtually most of our life. I visited him and the family during the summer since he lived in the "big city" and plenty vacations down to the emerald coast of Florida. Shad eventually started at UAB as well and we enjoyed the tall tee and baggy jeans movement. It was also his idea to play basketball in Vestavia Hills at midnight twice a week when we were in our athletic prime.
Marcques's 11 year old brother. He is very active and has a huge heart for his family and others. He plays basketball and football; he is super competitive and confident. He is also a gifted student!
Sabrina's 7 year old nephew. Chandler is a character at all times of the day and always ready to put a smile on everyone's face. Chandler enjoys all sports, watching movies, and playing games on his tablet. There is never a dull moment when Chan the Man is around!
Sabrina's 12 year old nephew who is very helpful, loving, and smart. He enjoys school, dance, and track. He isvery dependable and his mom's right hand always ready to be a helper and make their daily transitions smooth.
Marcques's 15 year old brother. He is a very laid back young man who is extremely affectionate. He plays basketball and runs track. He likes to think of himself as a sneakerhead and is a wicked smart student. He is also the prankster of the Mason Family.
This day is just as much about Kristian as it is about Marcques and Sabrina. She is an essential part of our happiness and a large part of the success of our future family. Krisitan is extremely smart and loves any kind of art. She's a love bug and is always there to encourage anyone that feels may need it. She has a true gift of caring for other people and we love that about her. We both look forward to all that our new life together will bring.
Candra aka "Candy"
Being sisters means that I kinda met her at birth and I've been trying to skake her ever since. She's the big sister that's really the little sister. She steals all my clothes, shoes, food, and anything else that she thinks might benefit her but I wouldn't trad her for the world. She's my village, my drinking partner and She's exactly who I want by my side as I take this next step.
Lynne aka "The Fashionista"
The stars aligned in 2009 when Lynne and I met through my cousin. We spent most of 2010 dancing everybody under the table and I can' wit to do it again on my wedding day. She's the Christina to my Meredith (Grey's Anatomy joke) and if I killed someone she's who I would call to drag the body across the floor (Another Grey's joke). We been through a lot in these last seven years and I cant imagine this day without her! I look forward to her being the official "hold my dress up so I can pee" person.
Ivey aka " The Planner"
I have no idea how I met Ivey but I did and she hasn't gone anywhere since. She is the ultimate confidant and my daily encourager. She's my mirror, even when I don't always like what I see. I know she will always keep it real with me and I love that I about her. I expect her to get me down the aisle by any means necessary.... And I do mean ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
Traci aka " The Ride or Die"
I met Traci in 2010 playing kickball. We have been down like four flat tires ever since. She is always down for whatever you need! Be it a drinking partner or a bailout at 2am. She's always there I can always count on Traci to have a good time and couldn't imagine her not being there to ensure that the wedding "turn up" is epic. I expect her to help me get my money's worth of the bar.
Nicia aka "The Gatherer"
Nicia and I have met through several mutual friends but became close in the last couple of years. She keeps me grounded and always gives me a new perspective. She always knows how to gather me and get me right together. She makes sure I know that it's ok to do good things for myself. I look forward to her making sure that I look my absolute best on my wedding day.
Felicia is the sister that God blinked and forgot to give me. She is my sisters best friend and extra big sister that I am so blessed to have. She's been there for all of my major milestones and I wouldn't dare do this one without her.
Kendra aka "Beyonce's Goddaughter"
Kendra is the sister of Marcques which means she's my sister in law to be. She loves all things Beyonce and I look forward to bonding over speculaiton of who is the real "Becky with the good hair".
Marcques 5 year old niece that is a cheerleader and loves doing YouTube tutorials. She is an expert on makeup. She also loves any food covered in gravy. Her favorite color is pink on Mondays and purple the rest of the week. She's a girl that marches to the beat of her own drum.
Marcques's 8 year old sister. She is a girly girl who is very loving and very kind. She is an entertainer at heart who loves to tumble, sing, and attend dance lessons. She is a very smart girl who loves to read!
So as many of you know, I live in the DMV area. Sooooo in order to get this done I had to come home. Most times I tell Sabrina when I'm coming but I didn't because I told her I would have to work. I didn't have to work. So I got a flight via Delta and came home around 8am. I gave Sabrinal a normal call as if I was going to the gym Meanwhile I had paid for the ring and was going to pick it up from the jewler. As I'm doing that, I contacted Lynne to let her know of my shenanigans and also Ivey. Ivey coordinated with me a small luch for her and Sabrina. As they were at lunch (she loved hibachi, so that's where they went), I had the waitress slip her a card as I lurked in the shadows at high noon. As she was walking out, Sabrina began to read the card and started looking around bewilderment as to see how was this possible. Then boom, I hopped out the rental car and popped the question.
Yes we did initially meet at kickball but I didn't really KNOW him. Over the years we would meet at mutual friend's functions, speak and do small talk. He always casually talked about me meal prepping for him but never put any action behind it. One day he actually contacted me and asked me to prep for him. I did this for a few weeks before he abruptly said that he had to move and wouldn't need the services. During the entire time he was always very professional and I wouldn't have assumed that he was at all interested. New Years Eve he randomly sent me a text and it was him that was so mesmerized that he continued to contact me everyday. We did eventually go on a first date a few weeks later and it was like hanging with your bestfriend. He is the ultimate southern gentleman, very funny and very spontaneous. I have never met a person that cares for the well- being of others more than he does and it has made it so very easy to fall for him.
The prelude to our story began during the days of legendary twitter kickball and football back in 2009/2010. We spoke in passing so I reeeeally didn't know Sabrina to have meaningful conversation. It wasn't until many moons later in 2014 when things really got going.
So I was looking for someone to meal prep for me since I was preparing to do PT tests and training. I knew Sabrina was an expert in fine art culinary skills so I reached out to her. She did such a good job. Unfortunately, her last meal prep, I told her that I was leaving Birmingham and would someday give her Rubbermaid containers back.
I never did.
Fast forward to NYE 2014. I randomly sent her a text to cook some black eye peas and greens as that is the custom of some southern households for the New Year. Well Sabrina enjoyed that fine text and for the next few hours well into the midnight hour, we texted until almost the rooster crowed. Our first date wasn't until a few weeks later but it was well worth the wait. I got an even biggler glimpse into how great a person is and I'm thankful for the opportunity. Sometimes you're random text message away from finding love.
I was born and raised in the heart of the Black Belt in south west Alabama. Growing up, I loved computers, basketball, meteorology and dropping folks off in spades. After graduating high school, I went on to UAB for college. I currently work for the government and live in Washington DC. My favorite hobbies are anything sports related and taking naps.
I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and I am the youngest of 3. I have an older brother and sister and we all are seven years a part. I love to read, nap and travel (preferably all three together). I absolutley love anything food related, new techniques and new restaurants specifically. Currently I am the owner of an organic line of baby food that takes up most of my days. I love to volunteer my time doing anything that uplifts others whether it be my friends, family or random strangers. I look forward to all the transitions and joys that married life will bring.
